Job Details
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our maintenance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance work and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
Job Requirements:
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge and experience in maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Proficient in using various tools and equipment required for maintenance work.
- Familiarity with mobile plant equipment is preferred.
- Previous experience in the waste and recycling sector is beneficial.
Leadership and Management:
- Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and support staff.
- Excellent people skills with the capacity to nurture a productive and collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating maintenance activities, including delegating tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide necessary feedback and coaching.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members, management, and external suppliers.
- Ability to foster open lines of communication and maintain good relationships with equipment manufacturers and other suppliers.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with the operational team to achieve operational targets and drive process improvement.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices related to maintenance work.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, creating work-based method statements, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- A proactive approach to maintaining high standards of maintenance health and safety.
Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement:
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and identifying defect trends.
- Commitment to driving continuous improvement in maintenance processes, techniques, and equipment.
- Innovative thinking and ability to implement positive changes effectively.
Organisational Skills:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records, monitoring departmental expenditure, and planning maintenance stock.
