About the role
Welcome to the dynamic world of BYD! We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to work within our new vehicle operations team to be a vital part of our growing team within the BYD family.
With the recent launch of our new vehicles last year, we anticipate thrilling growth during 2024 and beyond.
As a Logistics Specialist at BYD, you will have the opportunity to be part of a team shaping the future of sustainable transportation and be an integral part of the exciting journey ahead.
Working for BYD in the passenger car division, you will play a key role in propelling our expansion and solidifying our presence in the UK providing our retailer and fleet partners with industry-leading service levels and customer excellence at the front of what we do.
The position will be office based in Uxbridge West of London and will report to our UK Vehicle
logistics manager and working within the vehicle operations team and our wider business stakeholders.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for maintaining vehicle data within our inventory management system, ensuring accurate and regular updates.
- Execute vehicle allocation to new orders for our right hand drive markets
- Liaise with colleagues in Retail Sales and Fleet Sales to instruct cars to be prepared for delivery to our dealer partners and direct sales partners efficiently in advance of dispatch.
- Organise, book, and monitor delivery requests - recording and analysing data as necessary to maintain accurate records.
- Be a key communicator between multiple stakeholders and direct supply customers
- Monitor incoming vessels and organise relevant processes for dry land arrival and inspection.
- Work Closely with other team members
- Generate weekly reports for the Operations Manager
- Update and maintain database of all the import/custom/transportation/distribution documents.
- Assist with stock age control and damage recovery where required
- Ad-hoc tasks arranged by line manager.
What are we looking for?
- 2+ years of experience in a vehicle logistics or a dealer operation or fleet/rental
- Ability to handle and process/understand data/forecast/planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel)
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
- Enjoys working as part of team making a positive effect
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- An automotive background such as new vehicles national sales company or large dealer group is a bonus.
