The role

The focus of the post is on providing one to one support to the Education Lawyer in respect of Special Educational Needs Tribunals.  It is also expected that the successful candidate will provide support to the other Lawyer’s within the team as and when required.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will possess a good level of skill and expertise from within an office environment, good customer service and inter-personal skills and be confident in the use of various computer applications.

The candidate should have an interest in the legal sector; particularly the law of education, be highly organised, flexible and focused.  A strong team player is required who will be able to apply their knowledge innovatively and proactively. 

Duties are varied but will include maintaining the legal files to a high standard, obtaining documents relevant for the appeal, preparing the bundles for the final hearing, dealing with members of the public/legal professionals and administrative tasks for other Lawyers in the team. Full training will be provided.

Remote Working

The council has a smarter working policy which does provide a great degree of flexibility between home and office working. This post does however require some office attendance on a weekly basis, which is currently is one day per week each Wednesday when all team members attend the office.  The role will initially require a minimum of three days a week in the office to assist with training and development.

We have developed our technology platform to enable you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
