Our client, a leading global IT service provider,is recruiting for a Lead Data Engineer/Tech PM to join their business in the UK.
Job Description:
Should have extensively worked on migration projects, leading teams and interacting with Architect roles and Client for a minimum of 3 cloud data migration projects.
Understanding of relational data models.
Hands on involvement in Low Level Design, Development and architecting of large Data migration projects leading developer and testing teams.
Handon on AWS migration services (AWS DataSync, AWS DMS, AWS snow family, AWS server migration etc.) as well as Data services on AWS such as AWS EMR, Glue, Athena, S3, Spark.
Should possess Problem solving, Team building and Leadership Skills in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Strong knowledge of Cloudera based hadoop stack like hdfs, hive, spark, sqoop, impala, kafka.
Cloud Experience including AWS is a must.
Experience and ability to understand and interpret data migration strategies is desirable.
Should have good problem-solving skills and analytical skills serving as a bridge between the architect and execution team.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects for large scale migration projects from legacy Data systems to Data Platform on AWS.
Decide on suitable strategies and objectives.
Coordinate cross-project activities.
Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff.
Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities.
Apply change, risk and resource management.
Assume responsibility for the program’s people and vendors.
Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI.
Resolve projects’ higher scope issues.
Prepare reports for program directors
Must have:
AWS, ETL, Spark/Scala, Java, Python, EMR, AWS Glue, AWS Athena
Good to have: Cloudera – Python, Spark, Hive, HDFS, Impala, Sqoop. Informatica Power Center, DQ, DG.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in the IT industry with experience in migration preferably in Banking/BFSI domain.
Ability to think through a problem and visualize the solution.
An open mind towards new challenges.
Exercise responsibility for architecture, design and documentation, adherence to software development life cycle guidelines, software version control standards and code promotion.
Exposure to Media & Entertainment, Telecom will be an added advantage.
Banking domain experience is mandatory
English language fluent is required
