Customers rely on them to provide water and wastewater services to their homes. You will join as a Laboratory Scientist providing analytical expertise to undertake the scientific analysis of samples associated with thepany’s activities.
Your new role
Maintain adequate laboratory records as required by thepany and the ISO 17025: 2017, DWTS and MCERTS accredited quality system
Undertake instrument maintenance and calibrations in line with ISO 17025 requirements
Plan the daily workload with the support of your line managers to ensure efficient day-to-day laboratory operations.
Undertake chemical / microbiological analysis
Actively involved with the quality section of the laboratory
Determine whether results produced from samples are valid and instigate further actions as necessary
Participate in projects and method development
What you'll need to succeed
Desirable to have a HNC, NVQ or degree in a relevant Scientific discipline but minimum of an A-Level in Biology
Previous experience working in a lab environment – preferably to ISO 17025 standards.
Knowledge of Health & Safety in a lab environment
Work well under pressure and be able to take ownership of your work
