Junior Medical Equipment Service Technician

We are seeking a Junior Medical Equipment Service Technician in the Biomedical Engineering Department. You will join an enthusiastic department that provides a Medical Equipment Management service for the Trust. The post involves working closely with other healthcare professionals in providing corrective / planned maintenance, medical device training and the calibration of a wide range of medical equipment.  The role involves work in the Electronics and ICU support sections of Biomedical Engineering

Our department works to a registered quality assurance system (BS EN ISO 9001:2015) to give a high standard of customer care.

Good communication skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

The Bio-Medical Engineering Department provides an important clinical technical service for the Trust, covering the commissioning, maintenance and management of medical equipment. The Medical Equipment Service Technician will carry out acceptance testing, electrical safety testing, planned maintenance and repairs on equipment maintained by the Bio-Medical Engineering department. The work, most of which will be routine, will involve maintenance of a wide range of medical equipment, some of which will be complex. The range and extent of the work will be appropriate to the grade.

 

The role will be divided between the electronics and Intensive care sections of Biomedical Engineering Department and a rota will be established based upon service demands.

The post holder will be required to work following departmental procedures and acting within their level of knowledge and experience. Supervision from more senior staff will generally be available.
