RoleOverview:
We are seeking an exceptionalHead of Department for History who is passionate about deliveringan inspiring curriculum and driving excellence in teaching andlearning. As the Head of Department you will lead a dedicated teamof history educators ensuring the provision of highqualityeducation and fostering a love for history among ourstudents.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Curriculum Leadership:Design and implement a dynamic and engaging history curriculum thatmeets national standards and inspires curiosity.
- Teaching and Learning: Leadby example through outstanding classroom practice and provideguidance to colleagues on effective teaching strategies.
- Staff Development: Mentorand support the professional development of history departmentstaff fostering a collaborative and supportive teamenvironment.
- Assessment andMonitoring: Implement rigorous assessment processesto track student progress and ensure continuousimprovement.
- Parent andCommunity Engagement: Build positive relationshipswith parents carers and the wider community to support studentachievement andwellbeing.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevantundergraduate degree in History or a related subject.
- Proven experience as a successful History teacher with atrack record of achieving excellent results.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate andinspire colleagues.
- Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectivelywith students staff and parents.
