Job Description:
We are looking for a HSE Advisor to join the established HSE Team in Southampton. Southampton is home to 5 clean rooms and is the centre of Leonardo’s infra-red detector build. Shipboard communications systems are also based at Southampton.
You will be working as part of a small team assessing the existing policies, processes, and systems of work to ensure that, Leonardo’s service meets the Customer’s needs, is in line with Leonardo’s policies and processes. The areas of the role include investigation and assessment as well as training and administrative support services of HSE team.
How you will do it
Support and guide on various HSE matters
Build relationships with key stakeholders across the sites, promoting the development of a positive culture and best practice
Deliver continuous improvement in Health, Safety and Environmental standards and practices.
Incident recording and tracking of determined actions
The Risk & COSHH assessment databases
Safety data sheet listings
New starter Inductions
Internal HSE auditing on all three standards (ISO 45001, 14001, 50001), and following up with the corrective actions
Balanced Scorecard (BSC) reporting
HSE Representatives meetings preparation & minutes
Update emergency preparedness arrangements & training
Document reviews
Energy and waste monitoring & record keeping
Ensure that the HSE notice board is kept up to date.
What we look for
Be able to achieve SC level clearance
Have a proven track record of delivering HSE improvements
Knowledge of ISO Management System ISO 14001,45001 and 50001
Experience of running/auditing HSE management systems
Understanding of safety culture development.
NEBOSH General as a minimum, ideally working towards NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ level 6
Self-starter/able to work on own initiative
Good at working with people at all levels
Computer literate, with good understanding of MS Office packages
Good analytical skills
Resilience, ability to work under pressure
Willingness to travel and work at other sites
Good presentation skills
Experience of Business Continuity planning
