JobSummary:
Toraise the educational outcomes of all UHL Children s Wardinpatients attending the School Room using identified onlineteachingprogrammes
Tolead on education planning in the School Room for the team aroundthe child providing specialist support to a range ofprofessionals.
Toprovide early intervention specialist support for young people outof school and admitted to UHL for medicalreasons.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities
Toprovide effective monitoring and auditing of educationalachievement of School Roomattendees.
Toprovide relevant advice on education of School Room attendees toVirtual school staff and a range of partneragencies.
Towork with the Outreach Manager of the Virtual School to develop acomprehensive strategy for raising the attainment of thecohort.
Towork with vulnerable young people who may exhibit a range ofemotional and behaviouraldifficulties.
Totake a leading role in identifying and commissioning suitableeducational provision for School Room attendees whilst unable toattend mainstreamschool.
Tolead on commissioning a range of specialist resources for theidentified School Roomcohort.
Tobe able to analyse the learning data from the online teachingprogrammes and disseminate this to appropriateagencies.
Plan preparedeliver assess report and mark learning activities forindividuals/groups.
Responsible forthe management and development of The SchoolRoom.
EssentialExperienceRequired:
Experienceworking with children of relevant age in a learning environment isessential.
Experience tocreate a stimulating visual environment in the classroom isessential.
Experienceworking with of relevant polices/codes of practice and awareness ofrelevant legislation isessential.
EssentialQualificationRequired:
Higher LevelTeacher Assistant qualification or equivalent isessential.
Excellentnumeracy/literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 isessential.
Additionalinformation tonote:
Working hours:25 hours per week from Monday to Friday on schoolhours.
Enhanced DBS isrequired for therole.
The role isBased in Lewisham Hospital Schoolsroom.
