Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.

BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance - this post is subject to BPSS checks. You will therefore be required to consent to and comply with BPSS checking requirements prior to commencing in this post. This check involves verification of identity; nationality and immigration status; employment history (past 3 years) and basic criminal record check.

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders and it is available upon request.

This is a rewarding role which involves managing a staff team of 22 accommodation support workers and the smooth running of temporary accommodation. We are recruiting a Homeless Lead Officer for Manchester City Councils Shared Houses. There are 14 shared houses, each with either one or two staff and a hospital discharge accommodation, all of which are managed by the management team of a Team Leader and two Homeless Lead Officers.

The staff you will be joint managing support residents with accessing universal credit, bank accounts, drug and alcohol referrals, mental health referral, budgeting, getting formal ID, creating personalised support plans, listening to their concerns and needs and eventually moving them on to suitable medium to long term accommodation. The HLO will monitor, train and support staff to do this work, as well as assisting the Team Leader with the efficient running of the houses to Manchester City Council aims and objectives.
