Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the CCO to develop and drive an ambitious partnerships sales strategy and sponsorship hierarchy.
  • From end-to-end, manage the club’s sales process when securing new major partners.
  • Proactively prospect and nurture relationships with contacts across a range of potential partners.
  • Successfully pitch and negotiate with high level stakeholders when bringing new commercial partners on board.
  • Maximise and evolve existing commercial opportunities and explore where new possible assets could be commercialised.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer relationship management with current partnership contacts to impact retention and satisfaction.
  • Lead, develop and grow the partnership team.
  • Work closely with the legal and finance teams during partner onboarding.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create bespoke partnership proposals and sales tools.
  • Successfully pitch and negotiate long term partnerships for the club.
  • Work with the Partnership Activation Manager to ensure partnership rights are successfully delivered and exceeded where possible.
  • Lead on contract renewal negotiations.
  • Host VIPs and potential partners at club events.
  • Provide regular internal updates on sales pipeline and partnership delivery.
  • Proactively monitor the financial budget and provide regular Board reporting.
  • Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

    Essential:

  • Solid experience of full end-to-end development of commercial partnerships, ideally within the sporting industry.
  • Proven track record of nurturing commercial growth and delivering tangible business value through partnerships.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with solid commercial acumen.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for sports marketing and brand promotion.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in the development and delivery of sales presentations.
  • Adept at data analysis and communicating data in clear report writing.
  • A self-starting work ethic, with the ability to continuously innovate and collaborate.
  • A natural leader of people and experience in growing a thriving team.
