Job Summary

Incumbent of this position shall be a fully qualified andexperienced safety and / or environmental professional who will berequired to work independently in the area of expertise and asmember of a compliance team in Dhahran Shops. Duties will requireassisting the planning establishing implementing maintaining andverifying compliance of safety and environmental standards andinitiatives to ensure compliance with corporate and localdepartmental HSE requirements and expectations. Reports bothinternally within the organization department and with othersupport organizations such as with loss prevention environmentalprotection and Operational Excellence where necessary. Incumbentwill be expected to travel within kingdom to divisional facilitieswithin the organization department. Mechanical Service ShopDepartment (MSSD) has state of the art workshops and facilitiesthat are driven by our most valuable asset which is the departmentsskilled and experienced workforce. Its primary responsibility is tomaintain This Company rotating and stationary equipment. Thedepartment plays a vital role in the company as it provides thesupport to all field organizations by maintaining and repairing thecorporate equipment. Responsibilities:

  • Provides advice and consultation to departmentstaff on maintaining a safe working environment in compliance withenvironmental and safety regulations standards andpractices.
  • Identifies and evaluates hazardousconditions and practices in the workplace conducting surveys toassess occupational health safety and environmentalconditions.
  • Coordinates onsite inspections toaudit physical conditions and safe work practices offering guidanceon compliance with corporate safety regulations andprocedures.
  • Conducts safety inspections atconstruction sites and department facilities including hazardanalyses and safe work procedures and prepares written reports withrecommendations.
  • Develops controls foridentified hazards and coordinates their implementation based onhazard analyses results. Measures and evaluates the effectivenessof hazard control systems policies and procedures recommendingimprovements to reduce workplace incidents and injuries.
  • Prepares safety orientations safety training materialsand job site inspection procedures. Conducts specialized safety andenvironmental training programs to communicate hazard controlinformation and assists in new employee orientation.
  • Participates in Safe Operations Committeemeetings.
  • Reviews and analyzes injury propertydamage and statistical loss data working with management to createcomprehensive recommendations for corrective actions to eliminateor minimize potential hazards.
  • Ensuresessential safety requirements are incorporated into all purchasingand contracting actions recommending the purchase of safetyequipment supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) inaccordance with company requirements.
  • Maintains awareness of corporate safety requirements andrecommends their implementation.
  • Assistsmanagement in monitoring employee and contractor adherence to thedepartments safety program.
  • Performs otherrelated duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
  • BS degree inengineering safety engineering industrial hygiene or environmentalscience or in a related field is preferred in addition tocertification for radiation safety officer (RSO).
  • Must have (8) years of related safety/operationalexperience and/or training preferably in the oil/gas orpetrochemical industry or in the industry related to the positionplacement.
  • Must have knowledge or training inthe following: occupational health safety and environmentalcompliance with applicable industry governmental and/orinternational standards.
  • Must havedemonstrated knowledge of delivering hands on health safety andenvironmental training. Must also have ability to assist withdeveloping implementing and coordinating comprehensive health andsafety programs.
  • Excellent communicationskills both verbal and written (training/presentations/reportwriting). Participate in teams and/or committees.
  • Skilled in the standards concepts practices andprocedures within the health safety and environmentalfields.
