The Role:
As a Drama Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the school's drama curriculum, fostering a love of theatre, and empowering students to develop their confidence, communication skills, and artistic abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Leadership: Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement a rich and engaging drama curriculum that meets the needs of students across all key stages.
- Inspiring Instruction: Deliver captivating drama lessons that encourage students to explore diverse theatrical styles, techniques, and genres.
- Creative Exploration: Foster a safe and supportive environment where students feel empowered to experiment, take risks, and express themselves through drama.
- Performance Opportunities: Prepare students for school productions, showcases, and other performance opportunities, both within the school and in the wider community.
- Assessment and Feedback: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and celebrate individual and collective achievements.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to integrate drama into other areas of the curriculum and enhance the overall learning experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching drama at the secondary level.
- A deep understanding of drama theory, practice, and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
