Seeking a Dynamic Drama Educator

On behalf of our client, a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Hackney, we are actively seeking an inspiring Drama Teacher to join their dedicated team. This full-time position, commencing in September, offers a unique platform for an individual who possesses a passion for the performing arts and a commitment to nurturing students' creative expression.

The Role:

As a Drama Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the school's drama curriculum, fostering a love of theatre, and empowering students to develop their confidence, communication skills, and artistic abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Leadership: Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement a rich and engaging drama curriculum that meets the needs of students across all key stages.
  • Inspiring Instruction: Deliver captivating drama lessons that encourage students to explore diverse theatrical styles, techniques, and genres.
  • Creative Exploration: Foster a safe and supportive environment where students feel empowered to experiment, take risks, and express themselves through drama.
  • Performance Opportunities: Prepare students for school productions, showcases, and other performance opportunities, both within the school and in the wider community.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and celebrate individual and collective achievements.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to integrate drama into other areas of the curriculum and enhance the overall learning experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Proven experience teaching drama at the secondary level.
  • A deep understanding of drama theory, practice, and pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
