Our esteemed client, a prominent independent freight company specialising in European logistics and road freight solutions, is actively seeking a qualified Freight Forwarder proficient in German to augment their team in Suffolk.
As the designated German Speaking Freight Forwarder - your key responsibilities will encompass:
1. Cultivating relationships with clients, agents, and direct manufacturers through proactive communication to foster repeat business and explore additional opportunities for expansion.
2. Engaging in face-to-face sales interactions with clients and suppliers, as necessary, across the UK and Europe.
3. Establishing and nurturing relationships with dependable suppliers.
4. Ensuring the smooth delivery of shipments as scheduled and promptly addressing any arising issues or disputes.
5. Generating cost quotes and managing the invoicing process.
6. Oversight of haulier (vendor) management, optimizing service quality, negotiating favorable prices, and assigning appropriate loads.
7. Analyzing haulier (vendor) performance to enhance value, maximize profits, and contribute to business growth.
German Speaking Freight Forwarder responsibilities include:
1. Sustaining and enhancing working relationships with both customers and suppliers.
2. Monitoring transport rates and markets, overseeing the entire job lifecycle from initiation to completion.
3. Enhancing productivity, minimizing superfluous costs, and upholding current quality standards.
We are particularly interested in candidates with 3-5 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, with proficiency in the German language. The ideal candidate should possess technical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of rates, customers, and suppliers in the European road freight sector. Additional qualifications include:
1. Strong familiarity with the industry.
2. Proficiency in computer literacy.
3. Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently.
4. Knowledge of an additional European language would be advantageous, though not mandatory.
