Hays have partnered with this regulator based in Birmingham who are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting and Assurance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your new role
They are looking for a technical accountant to monitor and review financial information provided bypanies forpliance on relevant reporting requirements.
Some of the key responsibilities include:Performing technical reviews ofpanies’ annual reports and accounts and making judgements on whether there is possible material nonpliance with relevant reporting requirements.
Analysingpany responses, undertaking additional research as necessary
Rmending regulatory action if necessary
Preparing initial correspondence topanies for review.
Preparing summaries on cases for publication.
Maintaining and developing relationships with internal and external parties
Maintaining and developing technical knowledge and understanding of accounting standards
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the position, you will:
Be a fully qualified member of ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS or CAI (or equivalents) and have:
Significant post-qualification experience of applying IFRS and UK GAAP, ideally at a senior manager level or above
Have extensive knowledge of corporate reporting requirements and best practice.
Have excellent research and analytic skills.
Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment and regulatory frameworks
