This position is a great opportunity to commence a finance career at Hull City Council. The position is within the Business Finance Team, which is a great team that all work well together supporting and helping each other when required.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to learn and develop, who is good at communicating and has a good standard of education including literacy and numeracy skills.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Assisting in the provision of a high-quality financial service to managers and senior finance officers to ensure statutory requirements for financial management and accountability are met and deliver value for money for the Council.
  • Working alongside senior finance staff to provide a customer focussed support service to assist in delivering the objectives and priorities of directorates.
  • Input and produce high quality financial information, assist with the monitoring of capital and revenue budgets, maintain accurate financial information and assist in the production of the Council’s annual accounts. 
  • There are a number of flexible workforce options available including home working and flexible working hours.
