We are looking to appoint Family Support Workers to our teams across Childrens Social Care who will help us to deliver our vision for children and their families.     As a Family support worker you will work in partnership with the Social Workers and multi-agency partnership who have identified children, young people and their families and carers, who need additional support and direct work, to achieve their outcomes, support to navigate their care experience, maintain family connections and support the assessment process.

    You must have a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing children and families, a record of successful partnership working, a record of successful direct work and involvement with children and their families and have excellent communication skills and ability to support families in crisis. We have introduced Signs of Safety as our operational model and a comprehensive programme of training will be available to anyone who is unfamiliar with this model.

    Cheshire East Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across the Borough. As such, any cautions, convictions, reprimands or final warnings that are ‘not protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) order 1975 (as amended in 2013) relating to the non-disclosure of spent convictions do not apply to this job.
