The Role:
We are delighted to present a remarkable opportunity for an accomplished English Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in East Sussex, commencing in September 2024. This full-time, permanent position offers a stimulating and enriching environment where you will contribute to the academic and personal development of Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging and rigorous English lessons that inspire a love of literature and language in students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
- Develop innovative curriculum plans and assessments that align with national standards and school objectives.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages critical thinking, effective communication, and independent learning.
- Provide constructive feedback and tailored support to students, enabling them to reach their full potential.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings and initiatives, collaborating with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and learning experiences.
- Remain abreast of current pedagogical approaches and educational research to continuously improve teaching practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in English or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Demonstrated experience teaching English at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- A passion for English and a commitment to student success
