The duties of the Engineering Manager - Process Engineering include:
Provide Management leadership for the LTLGS Process Engineering team and support departments, communicating with Production, clients, service providers and management
Liaising with the LTLGS Production Management team to provide effective professional technical support with respect to all “Processes” with important focus on Surface Technology and provide a compliant system for production to utilize
Develop and control a robust Key Performance Indicator system for the “Process” side of Engineering, including the Surface Technology support department / Tooling and Manufacturing Engineering, establishing measurements and targets
Design, develop and manage new Process, Manufacturing and Surface Technology projects, ranging from robust day to day maintenance plans though to equipment upgrade and replacement projects
Select, monitor, mentor, develop and challenge a team of technical support colleagues
Identifying and implementing Continuous Improvements
The ideal Engineering Manager should meet the following requirements:
Bachelors of Engineering degree in a Mechanical Engineering / Aeronautical Engineering discipline
Background or knowledge of surface technologies / plating industry (including Chemistry) would be beneficial
Formal project management experience would be beneficial - APMP / PRINCE2 / etc.
Formal 'Lean' / Continuous Improvement training would be beneficial
The role requires a proven technical manager, an independent creative thinker, a great communicator and motivator who is organised, a great team player, commercially aware/sensitive, and a good negotiator
Minimum 3 years of management experience
Knowledge of the Aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul business tasking
Ability to gather complex information from experts, distil and challenge, and then create plans and process improvements to deliver on this information
Technical scope of work / technical guidance / technical business cases
Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted
Must be willing to work shifts
