POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you a problem-solver with a knack for ensuring reliability in electrical and software systems? We are seeking a talented Electrical Reliability Engineer to manage assigned electrical and software reliability projects. You'll establish root cause identification of failures and deliver effective solutions, identify and implement design changes, and utilise CAD systems for verification and testing to maintain vehicle specifications. You'll also collaborate across various business functions to ensure effective project containment and solution delivery, meeting both business and customer requirements. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Contribute to the project management delivery of reliability electrical projects through root cause confirmation, design change, development, testing and on-time delivery of electrical system improvements.
  • Work on own initiative in projects assigned or part of a team on more complex projects.
  • Utilisation and development of problem-solving skills to identify root cause and advise on effective engineering design solutions.
  • Effective implementation to introduce design solutions through application of CAD systems (3D / Solid Edge / E3 /Teamcenter) and BOM / parts management system to manage design implementation changes with approval and signoff by Lead / Principal Engineers.
  • Problem investigation to include effective containment, service solution and production solution.
  • Ensure design projects fit with common systems interfaces & principles to incorporate design modifications, are applied consistently across all vehicle platforms and territories. Promote the re-use of parts and modular design philosophies.
  • Develop good electrical system working knowledge across the product range on key vehicle models.
  • Work effectively across functions to implement and verify design solutions especially with engineering design / test & development / Aftermarket service to test and verify effective implemented project solutions.
  • Interface directly with internal and external customers ensuring high customer satisfaction through safe, reliable, and well supported problem solution verification and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant internal and international standards, best practice, and legislation.
  • Meet clear project delivery targets with effective documentation.
  • Manage and co-ordinate activities with internal and external partners or suppliers to achieve- quality, cost and delivery targets for each project.
  • When required travel to customers or other ADL sites / suppliers to support the investigation of reliability problems in the field, assess failures, gather test / reliability data for input into design solutions, trial fit solutions on customer vehicles or test vehicles.
  • Carry out data analysis as required to support problem investigation and resolution.
  • WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • HNC or Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • Six Sigma Green belt preferred
  • 3 years+ experience (preferably in an automotive environment), working on Electrical/Systems based Engineering.
  • Competent in 3D and electrical CAD (Solid Edge & E3 preferred)
  • Experience in vehicle manufacture, design, or automotive aftermarket – EV experience an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Detailed understanding of vehicle electrical systems and controls. Experience in 24V / high voltage systems.
  • Experience of electrical system integration and interaction for delivery effective RQI project solutions.
  • Ability to work to structured project delivery using Reliability project management systems & processes defining actions to tasks and document effectively project progress / delivery to plan.
  • Proven problem-solving skills using 8D methodology or similar.
  • Active interest in vehicle-based technologies and developments.
  • The ability to communicate at all levels effectively.
  • Good team player implementing effective solutions.
  • Positive, professional, and able to work without supervision on own initiate.
  • Strives for continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel.
