We are currently partnering with a high-achieving independent girls' school in West London to recruit an outstanding Head of History to lead their dynamic department from January 2025. About the Role:
- Provide strong and visible leadership for the History department, setting the strategic direction and ensuring its continued success.
- Develop and implement a clear vision and curriculum for History, aligned with the school's overall goals and the National Curriculum.
- Lead a team of dedicated History teachers, fostering collaboration, professional development, and a culture of high expectations.
- Monitor and track student progress, identifying and supporting those who need extra help.
- Oversee the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment within the History department.
- Contribute to the wider leadership team of the school.
- Represent the History department at school events and within the wider educational community.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified History Teacher with a minimum of 5 years' successful teaching experience, including significant leadership experience within a secondary school setting.
- A proven track record of raising standards and improving student outcomes in History.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring the next generation of historians.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and empower colleagues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
