Do you want to join a friendly and dynamic team that supports the delivery of medical and dental education for the healthcare workforce?

We're seeking a Education Programme Officer to provide a broad range of business and administrative support to the medical workforce, training and education (WT&E) team across the Thames Valley, and South East region.

The post-holder will be a key member of the team whose overarching goal will be to enable the delivery of an exciting workforce programme. The role will primarily support the recruitment of trainee doctors. An exciting time to be involved in the changes that are happening in medical education nationally.

This post can be based in either the Thames Valley officer or Wessex office, but expectation is to support both areas with recruitment.

Main duties of the job

You'll undertake a variety of tasks including supporting recruitment of local, regional and national recruitment. The role will be expected to support wider activities predominately in the Thames Valley area. Working closely with the Education Programme Team Manager as the interface between Senior Management you'll build strong relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.

    The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. In addition, they must possess excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload and multi-task a variety of demands on their time.

    Experience

    Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of managing and co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence up to and including senior management level, as well as experience of creating and giving complex presentations
  • Ability to manage own workload and make informed decisions in absence of required information, working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of managing and reporting risks and setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures
  • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Knowledge of Financial Systems eg monitoring budget management, processing invoices, procurement and business planning processes
  • Knowledge of Data Protection and Information Governance
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • IT qualification or demonstrable knowledge
