We currently have a vacancy for an  Early Years & SEND HLTA to join our team in January (or as soon as available). Candidates will need to be confident, committed and well-motivated with high expectations and the ability to ensure all pupils achieve their full potential.This will involve working with the school SENDCO, class teachers and teaching both in early years and within our inclusive classroom.


The postholder will be experienced in taking responsibility for interventions, coordinating individualised curriculums for pupils with an EHC Plan, knowledge of social communication and interaction needs and complement the work of the teachers. This includes the delivery, monitoring and assessment of pupil progress. The role will involve working closely with parents/carers and other agencies and specialist services.

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Are committed to a ‘child centred ethos’ and inclusion for all.
  • Have experience of supporting in class and delivering learning activities to pupils (assessing progress and providing accurate feedback to the teacher).
  • Have experience of working with and managing a small team of TA’s to complete activities for SEND pupils, alongside the SENDCO and class teachers.
  • Have high expectations of all children for learning and behaviour and a positive approach to behaviour management.
  • Are a good team player and have a positive outlook.
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents and other stakeholders.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the curriculum, the principles of learning processes and specialist learning support strategies, along with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • The role also includes 30 minutes per day to work as a Supervisory Assistant during the lunchtime period.

    The successful applicant will be required to complete a Disclosure Application Form and to provide criminal conviction information.
