Director of Estates

Director of Estates - Healthcare - London - Up to £120k + Car allowance (7K) + Bonus

CBW are currently recruiting for a Director of Estates to work on a healthcare contract in London. The Director of Estates will oversee the entire contract including; Maintenance, Compliance, Technical and Sustainability functions and associated engineering systems. CBW are looking for an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic individual who has past experience of working as part of a Building, Engineering and Maintenance Team, ideally in a healthcare environment or PFI contract and have evidence of previous estates and facilities management at a senior level.  The post holder will ensure that the estates support services run efficiently from both a technical and financial perspective which will include the management of a budgets both revenue (including Hard FM and utilities) and allocated capital budgets.

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm

Key duties & Responsibilities

• The role is responsible for designing and implementing engineering service structures and services in a large and complex healthcare environment where innovation and service development are key to managing a compliant and effective service for the Staff, Patients and Visitors.
• You will lead and manage the operational estates provision, its managers, trade staff and contractors and provide assurance to the Board.

• Be responsible for significant budgets for pay, non-pay, utilities, and capital (backlog) allocations, identifying and delivering sustainable efficiency and improvement targets.
• Represent the Estates and Facilities division at key operational and strategic meetings as a subject matter expert
• Responsible for monitoring the Estates Department’s Operational efficiency along with strict compliance against the National Safety Standards and Regulatory Procedures as set out in HTM’s and HBN’s and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other statutory mandates.
• Regularly monitor the maintenance task flow performance the contract while supporting the ISO Quality Management system vision and outcomes. Additionally the Associate Director of Estates and Compliance will ensure the correct resources are Support the development of the Estates staff training programme to ensure the current and long term competencies are available to deliver both the Trust objectives and the Estates Maintenance Strategy.
• The role is expected to provide tactical, strategic, and operational advice and recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team, Portfolio Holders and elected Members and relevant committees in respect of the estate services
• and functions within their area of responsibility.
• Support Strategic Objectives through External Partnerships
• Oversee the senior management team, focusing on performance, development, attendance, and health and safety. 
• Develop and implement the Estate Plan in line with best practices in asset management. 
• Implement a real-time operational delivery plan that includes capital projects, minor works, repairs, maintenance, and estate management activities to support core service strategies.

  Requirements   

• Qualified in an engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical); C&G, HNC, HND or higher (Highly desirable)
• Experience of service delivery across a portfolio of commercial sites
• Previous experience of managing a large engineering team.
• A proven track record in commercial building maintenance 
• Healthcare or PFI experience would be highly desirable 
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients.
• Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload.
