Our client is a national UK bakery based at  the very heart of communities across the UK and seeking two front link managers to join the dynamic team in Bredbury.

Despatch Front Line Manager

Reporting to the Despatch Manager, you are responsible for leading and managing a group of Despatch Operatives and Despatch Coordinators to ensure the safe and accurate receipt, handing and distribution of all goods in accordance with all legal and company requirements.

Standard Performance :

Set clear goals, targets and expectations of performance for all Despatch Operatives and Despatch Coordinators on your shifts to ensure all relevant KPI’s are met.

• Ensure all shift members are aware of and complying with environmental, health and safety, legal and company standards and requirements and that all shifts operate in compliance with them.

• Ensure optimal labour utilisation, by making best use of the company Warehouse Management Systems and labour flexibility.

• Recruit, train and develop Operatives and Coordinators who reflect the Company’s Values and who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and qualifications to perform effectively.

• Execute continuous improvement action plans (e.g. PDP initiatives, productivity improvements, Pulse survey etc) to ensure that CI targets are achieved

. • Ensure that any service issues arising are addressed promptly and where appropriate, escalated, prepare and present solid and reliable key information at various meetings/reviews.

  • Build and develop effective relationships with our other teams on site to ensure cross functional working with optimal performance.

  • KPI’s:

    Hazard, accident and near miss reporting of all operatives, & Despatch Coordinators.

    • Health assessment compliance

    • Effective and Idle hours using WMS.

    • Achievement of department KPI’s including:

    • Total cost per basket

    • Total baskets per hours

    Skills:

    Previous experience in a warehousing operation.

    • Previous supervisory/management experience in a comparable blue chip, FMCG role desirable.

    • PC literate, including a working ability with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Word; capable of using Warehouse Management Systems

    • Good numeracy and literacy skills

    Salary per annum £47,250
