Design Manager

Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for overseeing the design and engineering processes in a steel fabrication company. 
  • They lead a team of designers, drafters, and engineers to ensure accurate and efficient design development, while collaborating closely with project managers, production teams, and clients to meet project requirements and timelines.
  • Develop and implement design strategies to meet project goals, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to design standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Manage a team of designers, drafters, and engineers, assigning tasks and providing guidance.
  • Oversee the creation and modification of engineering and fabrication drawings using appropriate software and tools.
  • Delegating tasks, designs and projects across the team
  • Being the main coordinator for all design projects
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in design management within the steel fabrication industry.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, SolidWorks).
  • Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, codes, and design standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on delivering quality work.
