The post holder will be expected to provide comprehensive, clinical care to patients with special needs and patients with special dental requirements. The successful applicant will be expected to provide a full range of high quality treatments for special care adults and children whose needs have prevented them from accessing dental care through General Dental Service. Manage care, under prescription from a dentist, where there are complex medical co-morbidities or the situation requires the involvement of other professionals and/or carers to resolve complex patient management issues. A flexible approach will be required in responding to the clinical care needs of these patients. Our service comprises of 6 clinics that are distributed across Kirklees & Calderdale, we provide high quality treatment and oral care for adults and children whose specific needs have prevented them from accessing dental care through the General Dental Service. For our Dental Therapist positions we require you to have: •GDC Full Registration •Appropriate qualification in Dental Therapy •Experience in providing paediatric and special care dentistry •Ability to work independently and responsibly, without direct supervision •Adaptable, flexible and able to work on different sites as required For an overview of the main duties of the role please see the ‘Job Description and Main Responsibilities’, to understand the day-to-day responsibilities in more detail.
