About the role

As a Cover Supervisor you will be responsible for leading lessons of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher. You will cover classes across the full range of secondary school subjects, but don’t worry, you are not expected to be a subject specialist in each area.

This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience of working within a Secondary school prior to applying to Initial Teacher Training. Although previous experience of working in a Secondary School is desirable it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure a positive and productive learning environment
  • Support students with their work and maintain classroom order
  • Follow lesson plans and deliver engaging educational experiences
  • Assist with administrative tasks as required

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Cover Supervisor- No experience required you will:
  • Recent Graduate: Ideal for those who have recently graduated from university
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
  • Skills: Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to different school environments
  • Training: In-house training provided to prepare you for the role
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
