The Contracts and Commissioning Team is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join the team in the role as a Contracts and Commissioning Officer, taking a lead responsibility for domiciliary care contract management and commissioning opportunities.
About the role
The role will work with a wide variety of Independent Providers, teams within the Council including Quality Monitoring, Safeguarding and Procurement, as well as the Council's partners. You will undertake procurement and commissioning processes, following statutory responsibilities.
It is essential you have experience of working within a contracts or commissioning area, responsible for the processes associated with specifications, tendering, letting and management of contracts. You will have excellent communication skills, a commitment to improving services and developing the market with an ability to motivate others. You will need to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders and negotiate to secure value for money.
An ability to manage and organise own workload and an ability to collect and collate evidence and present findings as the subject expert are both key to this role. The role will also have an understanding of financial constraints within the Adult Social Care sector. Sound knowledge of adult care legislation in line with CQC requirements is needed.
You will be home, and office based as needed, including a range of domiciliary care service locations across North Somerset.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
