Job Purpose
As a Contract Manager, you will oversee the contract delivery of lightning protection and power earthing system installations. Your focus will be on ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Accountabilities:
- Operational Planning: Develop and implement operational plans to deliver specified lightning protection systems on time and within budget.
- Resource Management: Assist in managing resource requirements for multiple projects, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate work records and logs to ensure precise information for invoicing, payroll, and other administrative tasks.
- On-site Coordination: Act as the primary contact for Engineers on-site, providing training, materials, and job-specific information to ensure consistent quality workmanship.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the Operations Director to identify and implement improvements, proactively resolving issues to prevent recurrence.
- Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain a reliable network of suppliers to support project needs.
- Reporting: Produce and contribute to relevant management reports on an ongoing basis.
Job Context / Key Challenges:
- Dynamic Environment: LP Installations is one of the largest businesses in the Group, requiring flexibility and a 'can do' attitude to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Customer Focus: Maintaining high standards of customer service and responding to project changes effectively is crucial.
Role Dimensions:
- Team Management: Manage a team of Engineers, with team sizes varying by region (up to 30 Engineers in the largest region).
- Project Scope: Handle projects ranging from small installations for individual customers to large-scale construction projects with multi-trade involvement.
Person Profile:
- Experience: Substantial operations experience in a similar environment, particularly working at height.
- Management Skills: Proven management or supervisory experience in a related field.
- Certifications: Personal CSCS card and a thorough understanding of site access and protocol.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams (Sales, HO functions, etc.).
- Customer Service: Strong orientation towards customer service, with excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
