About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join our client's dynamic Digital team, contributing to delivering a seamless digital experience across the organisation.
Responsibilities: In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape our technical strategies for digital product development, implementation, and maintenance. Collaborating within cross-functional teams in a hybrid working model, your key duties will include:
Managing and deploying crucial systems with a focus on automation, user-friendly configuration, minimising errors, repeatability, and security.
Creating and managing automated cloud pipelines.
Using monitoring tools to assess service performance.
Applying infrastructure-as-code principles to deliver scalable, predictable, and automated solutions.
Enabling development teams to effectively build and deliver software solutions.
Advocating for automated, resilient, and secure development processes.
Addressing and resolving anomalies and contributing to broader investigative efforts as required.
Providing support and collaboration with engineering teams on cutting-edge technologies.
Participating in an on-call rotation for system support.
Essential Skills:
Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions on the Azure platform.
Proficiency in monitoring services to ensure optimal performance and stability.
Capability to deploy various Azure resources, such as IaaS, PaaS, and serverless solutions.
Familiarity with the Hub-Spoke architectural model.
Expertise in cloud orchestration tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes.
Experience in developing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Solid analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and sound judgement.
Desirable Skills:
Background in Linux system administration.
Understanding of networking concepts.
Knowledge of HAProxy.
Experience with Eventstore.
Familiarity with databases like MySQL/MariaDB/Galera.
Experience working with Redis.
Knowledge of vSphere/VMWare platforms.
