We deliver treatment and support across Hackney ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach to recovery.
We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and experienced internal applicant, for this exciting new role within our City and Hackney substance use service. The Trainee Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) is offered as a Master Level Apprenticeship over 18 months, undertaken in partnership with the University of Plymouth. As an apprentice you will be employed full time by Turning Point, with your time split between academic teaching/study and clinical practice in service. You will be supervised by a Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist. There may be times you are required to travel to the University of Plymouth for lectures. Upon successful completion of the 18 month apprenticeship programme you will gain a Masters level qualification, and continue working in the City and Hackney service as a Band 6 Clinical Associate in Psychology. This is an apprenticeship role - as a Trainee CAP, the salary will be £29,574 - £34,566
On successfully qualifying, the salary will be £39,966.00 - £46,754.00
Role Responsibility
As a trainee Clinical Associate Psychologist, you will work closely with the Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist and the wider multidisciplinary teams. Your duties could include:
The Ideal Candidate
Along with one year’s clinically relevant experience, you will need GCSEs in Maths and English at A*-C or equivalent, and a minimum 2:2 BSc (Hons) Psychology degree accredited by the BPS with Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the BPS.

You will have lived in the UK / EU / EEA for the last 3 years and will meet all Turning Point apprenticeship requirements which are as follows:
• Reside in England for 50% of the duration of the apprenticeship.
• Completed your probation and your foundation required learning in full.
• When on programme be in learning and attend regular meetings with the provider within 30 days.
• If you work for another organization as well, you must work more hours at Turning Point than your other employer.
Excellent communication skills, adaptability and commitment to the Recovery Agenda, will all contribute to you becoming a vital member of our clinical team.
