An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Radiology Department for a Booking Clerk

The successful candidate must be flexible, forward thinking and proactive and require a commitment to ensure we provide a high quality service to our patients. This is a challenging role which requires excellent communication and empathy skills.

This is a rewarding and varied job with the opportunity to develop your skills.

The main purpose of this job is to be responsible for the management of the waiting lists, to actively monitor, maintainand validate them, ensuring the data is relevant and accurate.

The position is hours per week

Main duties of the job

  • To work together with other staff to promote a smooth and efficient work flow through the Department.
  • To be proactive and forward thinking to ensure correct management of waiting lists.
  • To participate in a range of shifts, to include evening and weekend shifts as required in line with the demands and requirements of the service.
  • To assist the Radiology Admin Lead in undertaking regular reviews of the office protocols and guidelines by providing advice on changes in working processes.
  • To undertake any other clerical duties that may be necessary for the speedy progression of both results and patient through the department to include secretarial support as required.

    Essential

  • Good Standard of General Education
  • GCSE in English & Maths
  • Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

    Essential

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally, on the telephone and face to face to a wide range of people
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with difficult and stressful situations
  • Good telephone manner
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet National Targets to prevent breaches
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Previous Clerical/Admin Experience and worked with the General public
  • Good Communication Skills and Telephone Manner
  • Desirable

  • Knowledge of Hospital IT systems
  • Previous experience on managing 'Waiting List' information
  • Medical Terminology experience
