Job description

Permanent, Part Time 18.5 hours per week.

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our Strategic Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service as a Child Protection and LADO Co-ordinator.

You will join an experienced team of 2 Co-ordinators working alongside 1.7 LADOs. Bristol's LADO team has consistently been recognised for its excellence practice by OFSTED and other regulatory bodies.

You will need to be comfortable working autonomously and be able to confidentially manage highly sensitive information about professionals and organisations. You will need to be organised and able to prioritise competing tasks. You will need to be able to show sensitivity and empathy when communicating with partner agencies and members of the public.

The role includes:

  • Carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support the running of the team and completion of all tasks necessary to keep an office running efficiently, using IT systems and processes.
  • Responding to all communication on behalf of the team, dealing with email and telephone enquiries from partner agencies and the general public.
  • Prioritising tasks and actions according to urgency, and liaising with the LADOs to ensure they are aware of urgent referrals received.
  • Assembling and collating data and reports, for example annual reports and Freedom of Information Requests.
  • Maintaining accurate records on IT systems (LCS, Excel)
  • Detailed and accurate minute taking of complex of multiagency Strategy and Allegations Management meetings.
  • Responding to requests for information from partner agencies, with a requirement to provide clear summary of information in order to enable agencies to assess risk and make decisions.
  • Processing referrals to the LADO, inputting these on relevant databases, and carrying out initial information gathering where necessary.

  • This role has been deemed unsuitable for job-share due to business need and therefore applications for job share will not be accepted.

The role is co-located within Bridewell police station alongside First Response and the police Lighthouse Safeguarding Unit. Therefore, police vetting is a requirement of the role.
