At the core of User Voice sits lived experience of the justice system. Our work is led and delivered by the three-quarters of our staff who’ve lived through imprisonment and probation. Thanks to our model, over 300 people have gone on to full-time employment after volunteering or working with us. Our lived experience means we engage empathetically instead of sympathetically. This breaks down barriers and allows us to have the difficult conversations needed to improve the criminal justice system.
We are currently recruiting a permanent Chief Executive Officer who will look to build on the vital work delivered in the past and lead the organisation to support everyone in the criminal justice system. They must be passionate about transforming individuals and institutions by empowering people in and around the criminal justice system. They must understand the power of lived experience. They must be able to share a clear vision for the Charity’s future and have the drive to deliver this.
