Wakam is a European B2B2C insurer that designs whitelabel general insurance (GI) products for its partners(e-retailers, brokers and fintechs/insurtechs, ...). Our insurancesolutions are embedded within the products orservices offered tothe end- customer. Wakam operate in 32 countries acrossEurope with most of the revenues generated outside of France. Mostof our products are delivered through API and hosts white labelinsurance solutions via our Play&Plug platform. SinceMarch 2021, we are a Mission-driven company. Main Tasks & Responsibilities Responsible for the reserving,reinsurance and capital management strategies in the UK, inpartnership with group functions Maintaining oversight of theCompany’s actuarial and reinsurance function in accordance with theCompany's Terms of Reference and managing, leading and developingthe actuarial, capital management and reinsurance function Thedesign and delivery of actuarial models, processes and systemsOverseeing the validity of modelling data, stress-testing andensuring robust controls are in place Reinsurance portfolioanalysis, annual plans and oversight Making recommendationsregarding solvency, reserve levels, capital assessment andprovision Co-ordinating the calculation of technical provisionsEnsuring the appropriateness of the methodologies and underlyingmodels used, as well as the assumptions made in the calculation oftechnical provisions Assessing the sufficiency and quality of thedata used in the calculation of technical provisions Comparing thebest estimates against experience Informing the governing body ofthe reliability and adequacy of the calculation of technicalprovisions Overseeing the calculation of technical provisionsExpressing an opinion on the overall underwriting policy and thetypes of customers which the Company is prepared to acceptContributing to the effective implementation of the risk managementsystem, in particular with respect to the risk managementunderlying the calculation of the solvency capital requirements andminimum capital requirements and the Company's ORSA Ownership ofkey risks in accordance with the Risk Management Framework andPolicy; and ensuring that actuarial systems are properly maintainedand supported. Your profile Significantexperience in the UK in a similar role for a non-life insurer, andideally already holding SMF20 A Fellow of a relevant ActuarialSociety Strong technical and analytical skills with a global viewof finance/actuarial/underwriting subjects Leadership andmanagerial proficiencies, with the ability to influence both directand matrixed reporting relationships. Good problem solver with theability to understand business drivers and needs and be able tobalance desired outcomes against potential risks and challenges.Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
