Location: Girton, Cambridge

Contract: 32 hours per week (including every other weekend)

We have an rare opportunity available as part of our Whispers Restaurant relaunch.

This is a exciting opportunity for a creative kitchen professional, who wants to make their mark in a collaborative environment, where they will have the support and encouragement of our new management team. You will be spearheading our new kitchen team to deliver high quality food, while maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment that ensure a dining experience our customers will come back for again and again.

Situated on the grounds of Abbeyfield's Girton Green service, our Whispers Restaurant offerings include tea/coffee and homemade bakes, light bites, a seasonal lunch menu, a weekly fish & chips service and a traditional roast dinner on a Sunday, all of which is open to both our Abbeyfield residents and the local community.

About You

  • You’ll be efficient and diligent in your work, and happy to work and communicate effectively as a team across all sections within the kitchen environment.
  • You will have previous experience in creating innovative dishes, with a focus on bringing people together.
  • You will be responsible for the implementation and adherence to Kitchen and menu SOP’s. Maintaining all Health and Safety standards - COSH, EOH and HACCP legislation.
  • You will be able to lead and support the kitchen staff team, you'll also train and develop the to get the best out of each individual.
