My client is looking for an experienced personal injury lawyer based in and around the North East who has experience in dealing with high-value multi-track catastrophic injury matters.
This role will be based in my client’s Newcastle office but they are quite flexible when ites to remote / hybrid working arrangements for candidates that cane in and hit the ground running. This is a cradle to grave role and will involve working on all aspects from inception topletion. More specifically the role will involve but will not be limited to:
Collaborating with the leading lawyer in the team on managingplex injury claims usually valued at up to £10m and above;
Providing technical legal advice to insurer clients and updating them on matters as they progress;
Deploying analytical skills and having a real eye for detail when reviewing and applying expert evidence, medical records and additional sources;
Strategic thinking aboutplex issues (GCS, RA/PTA,SCI);
Using Ogden Tables to split multipliers, determine life expectancy and building spreadsheets for quantum assessment with minimal input from the leading lawyer;
Undertaking engagements with counsel and experts both in conference and via telephone;
Meeting chargeable hours targets (7 chargeable hours per day);
Delegating tasks to and assisting junior members of the team;
Engaging with and building rapport with third party representatives; and
Keeping case management systems up to date with all the relevant management information andplying with the requirements of the SRA Standards and Regulations.
Candidates applying for this role will need to be qualified solicitors or chartered legal executives (CILEx) and it is essential that those candidates be able to demonstrate previous experience of handling catastrophic injury matters.
