Salary: £95 - £110 per day

Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time

GSL Education is searching for an empathetic and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join various supportive school community in Doncaster from September 2024. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be at the heart of student support, assisting them with their studies, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed. Your responsibilities as a Behaviour Mentor will include crafting lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, working with students individually or in small groups, and providing vital support to those with SEND needs, especially when teachers are absent.

Responsibilities of Behaviour Mentor:

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum.
  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to students.
  • Manage and improve classroom behaviour to create a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with SEND needs, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers to address students' academic and emotional challenges.
  • Track student progress, providing feedback and strategies for improvement.
  • Assist in classroom management and ensure a productive and safe learning space.
  • Prepare and modify resources to support learning across different key stages.

Behaviour Mentor Job Requirements:

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is essential.
  • Prior experience in a similar role or as a Behaviour Mentor is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum guidelines and key stages.
  • Proven ability to support students with SEND and manage diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Organisational skills and flexibility in adapting lesson plans as needed.
