Do you have experience working with young people in education or support work settings? Are you experienced in managing challenging behaviour?  Would you like to work in a primary school environment promoting positive mental health and student wellbeing?

Location: Edgbaston. 

Pay: £85 - £92 a day. 

Teaching Personnel are currently working with primary schools in Birmingham to provide specialist SEMH support across KS1 and KS2. This role would be fast paced, pastoral focused and dynamic; no 2 days would be the same. 

As a behaviour mentor you will be working in small groups or typically on a 1:1 basis, providing support and assistance to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). You will also be working alongside students with special educational needs (SEN) to provide guidance and encouragement towards positive wellbeing and school attendance. 

The successful candidate will attend regular meetings to track the students’ academic, emotional, and social progress. Maintaining a positive working environment is essential to the attainment of the students, therefore the ideal candidate will adopt a positive and confident approach to mentoring and supporting. 

Requirements for this role:

-          A clear and up-to-date DBS (Teaching Personnel can advise with this)

-          Being committed to the role and students you are supporting

-          Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with students and school staff

-          Experience working within SEND/youth support/ sports coaching or pastoral support

-          Team teach trained (preferred but not essential)

-          Behaviour management experience

 

This opportunity is ideal for educators with previous experience working within schools or with a background in sports coaching, childcare or support work. This position is full time therefore you must be available Monday - Friday from 8:15-15:45 during term time only.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
