British Cycling has recently embarked on an exciting new mission to bring the joy of cycling to everyone. We have modernised our commercial and events offering, grounded in social impact and storytelling, harnessing the spotlight and inspiration on Paris 2024 and growing our portfolio of major events as recently seen with the Tour of Britain Women in June 2024 with the men’s race to follow in September 2024. On top of that, we are currently working through our new strategy which will drive us through to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles 2028.
About You
You are a seasoned professional in planning and executing large-scale events, with a proven track record in developing event strategies and managing multiple budgets. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for managing third-party stakeholder relationships and providing the leadership needed to ensure our events' success.
What Will You Be Doing?
The focus of the role is to lead the operational delivery of the Tour of Britain events and be a key player in evolving and shaping the strategic direction and future programme of the flagship events portfolio. You will work collaboratively across multiple functions and have responsibility for all operational plans and deliverables. We are doing some exciting work around social impact and major events and you will form part of the team looking to align our events with our social value goals. Reporting to the Managing Director, you and the team will work to create engaging and impactful events that provide a great sporting spectacle, captivate and grow the reach of our fan base while fulfilling our commercial and partnership objectives. This role requires a high level of entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to manage multiple tasks across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
