The service at North Bristol Trust based at Southmead Hospital provides a full range of obstetric services across North Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. The maternity department, one of the largest in the country, was awarded ‘Good’ by the CQC has more than 6,300 births each year offering women the choice of 4 places of birth.
Our NBTeXtra bank midwives are valued members of our team and have access to exceptional benefits, full training and induction support including 20 supernumerary hours. NBTeXtra offer flexible working patterns to meet your needs, offering earlies, lates, long days and nights with competitive rates. There may also be the opportunity to block book shifts, depending on the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
As a Bank Midwife, you will be working as an experienced Midwife practitioner, exercising clinical judgement for the assessment of care needs, the development, the implementation and evaluation of programmes of care in partnership with women within the practice area.

The successful applicant(s) will normally commence at the minimum of the scale unless they have previous NHS service at the same band. Progression through the scale is by annual increments.
