Bolton NHS Foundation Trust are currently seekingorganised and motivated candidates to fulfil Band 7 Sonographer opportunitieswithin the team at Royal Bolton Hospital under a long-term placement you a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with excellentcommunication skills looking to embark on a new opportunity within the NHS? Ifso, we would like to hear from you today!

Thepost holder will ideally have previous NHS experience in all areas ofobstetrics. Specialist ultrasound is desirable but not essential. They must be able to demonstrate initiative andprioritise a complex workload whilst working both as an autonomous practitionerand as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

To undertake a range of ultrasound examinations inline with local, regional and national guidelines.

To provide a full ultrasound scanning and reportingservice. Use analytical and judgmental skills to provide interpretation ofultrasound images in order to provide independent written examination reportsover a wide range of obstetric, gynaecological, early pregnancy and generalmedicine ultrasound examinations.

To participate in the provision of emergencydepartment based ultrasound.

To assess the suitability of examination referralsand prioritise them according to clinical urgency. To possess the ability toadvise clinical referrers on the appropriateness and quality of requests.

To practice unsupervised, providing an independentdiagnostic report and to communicate scan findings to referring clinician. Tomake clinical assessments as to whether additional imaging required to aid adiagnosis.

Have a high degree of personal and professionalautonomy. Have the ability to make clinical judgments and critical decisions ofthe highest order, using knowledge, skills and experience.

To provide high standards of patient care in asafe, clean and tidy working environment, observing all Trust and departmentalpolicies and to maintain professional and personal
