Band 6 – Occupational Therapist – Paediatric – Devon

Pulse is currently seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with expertise in paediatric care to start immediately for an initial period of 3 months, located in Yelverton, Devon. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical occupational therapy assessments and intervention to children and young people aged between 0-19. The role will involve a mix of clinic and community working, assessing a variety of conditions including functional skills assessments, ABC assessments and working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions.

  • Assess and evaluate paediatric patients to determine their occupational therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address developmental challenges and improve functional abilities.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide education and support to parents/caregivers on therapeutic interventions and home exercises.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting progress and modifications to treatment plans.
  • Stay informed about current best practices, research, and advancements in paediatric occupational therapy.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Proven experience working as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, with a focus on paediatric care.
  • Valid driver’s license with a reliable car.
  • Having an understanding of the Education Health and Care Plan process.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in paediatric occupational therapy.
