PositionOverview
We are seeking a highlyskilled and compassionate Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse(RMN) to join our team at Yeovil District Hospital. This is afull-time position with night shifts, running from 20:00 to 08:00,for a duration of two months starting in August 2024. The role isideal for a professional with experience in Home Treatment Teams(HTT) or Psychiatric Liaison Teams (PLT) who can work independentlyand manage complex cases during nighthours.
KeyResponsibilities
PatientCare and Support: Provide high-quality care andsupport to patients, ensuring their physical, psychological, andemotional needs are met. This includes performing regularcheck-ups, administering medication, and offering counselling andsupport to patients and theirfamilies.
BiopsychosocialAssessments: Conduct thorough biopsychosocialassessments to understand the comprehensive needs of each patient.This involves evaluating mental, emotional, social, and physicalaspects of the patient's health and developing tailored care plansaccordingly.
ClinicalExpertise: Utilise advanced clinical skills tomonitor patient progress, manage acute mental health conditions,and respond to emergencies. You will be expected to make informedclinical decisions, initiate appropriate interventions, andescalate concerns asnecessary.
Collaborationand Communication: Work collaboratively with amultidisciplinary team, including doctors, therapists, socialworkers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure a holisticapproach to patient care. Effective communication is essential toshare patient information, updates, and careplans.
Documentationand Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailedpatient records, ensuring all documentation complies with legal andhospital standards. This includes recording assessments, treatmentplans, medication administration, and patient progressnotes.
AutonomousWork: As this role primarily involves night shifts,the ability to work autonomously is crucial. You must be able tomanage your workload, make decisions independently, and handlesituations with minimalsupervision.
RequirementsandQualifications
ProfessionalQualification: Must hold a valid qualification as aRegistered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Occupational Therapist, orSocialWorker.
Experience:A minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health settings,specifically within Home Treatment Teams (HTT) or PsychiatricLiaison Teams(PLT).
