Total Care Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Band 3 Adult Support Worker in Adult Day Care in the Lisburn area. These are temporary block bookings for a minimum of 3-6 months. You will work a minimum of 30 hours per week between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm. NISCC registration is essential. We are looking for empathetic and caring staff who share the values of this service and a desire to help improve and add to the quality of life and well-being of service users. Principal Accountabilities Actively support the people we work with to experience life opportunities that promote maximizing potential and fulfilling their dreams. Enable community presence and participation as desired by the individual being supported Ensure the people we work with are supported to access person- led chosen activities and opportunities which result in measurable outcomes and achievements for the individual Assist in designing individualized programme of leisure, education and social opportunities Comply with guidelines in developing, designing, implementing and reviewing individualized support and care plans Support and Care: Provide personal assistance with primary needs i.e toileting, feeding, bathing, showering Maintain regular and appropriate records and reports as directed, eg incident reports. Facilitate and enable service users to participate in activities Provide required support to the individual with which ensures the maintenance of an environment which is as safe and hygienic as possible and appropriate to their needs Participate in all meetings as required and make a positive contribution to them. Assist with the management and administration of medication on completion of training Essential Criteria Good standard of education, 5 GCSES Grade A-C or equivalent NISCC Registration Minimum 6 months of experience working with vulnerable adults/children Be willing to complete mandatory face to face training Skills/Abilities Able to inspire others with a positive attitude toward supporting vulnerable people Good listening skills, able to report and record information accurately Able to form and maintain effective working relationships as part of a team Able to work using own initiative where required Able to be patient, caring and sensitive Willing and able to provide personal care to individuals Resilient, able to stay calm under pressure Able to work proactively with challenging behaviour A commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice Total Care Recruitment Ltd are a specialist Recruitment Agency managed and led by a team of highly qualified Social Workers recruiting exclusively for the Health & Social Care sector throughout Northern Ireland and the UK.
