Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Staffordshire for a Financial Auditor to join their team.
Role Overview: As the Service Lead, you will oversee and integrate the Financial Assessments and Charging Team, Client Welfare Services, and the Commissioned Care Services Payments Team. Your role involves driving transformational change, developing strategic vision and business plans, and ensuring the effective management of the service portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and provide strategic direction for financial assessments, payments, appointeeship, deputyship, and brokerage services.
Manage inter-dependencies between service areas, ensuring cohesive service delivery.
Develop and implement a performance framework aligned with service goals.
Ensure compliance with legislation, including The Care Act 2014, and provide expert advice on complex cases.
Lead on new strategies to adapt to legislative changes and evolving service demands.
Oversee client charging, including annual reviews and updates to thresholds and fees.
Role Requirements:
CCAB (preferably CIPFA) or CMIIA qualification.
At least three years' experience within the finance function of a major public or private sector organisation.
Practical experience in the areas of internal audit and reporting.
Experience of negotiating and influencing audit clients to achieve acceptance of proposals for change/transformation.
This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and expertise in social care financial services.
