You will be responsible for the delivery of an industry leading rehabilitation programme for Harlequins senior squad players following injury. In collaboration with the Athletic Performance Rehab Strength and Conditioning Coach, the APRP will be responsible for the planning, programming, and delivery of injured players rehabilitation journey from Injury to return to play.

The Details:
• Based at Surrey Sports Park, but happy to travel nationally and internationally as required.
• Will be required to work regular weekends and some evenings.
• Reports to Head of Medical Services with key relationships with Athletic Performance Rehab Strength and Conditioning Coach and the Medical and Athletic Performance Team.

The Responsibilities:
1.Clinical
• In collaboration with the Athletic Performance Rehab Coach, responsible for the planning, programming and delivery of all pitch and gym-based sessions.
• Provide detailed objective rehab reports for all injured senior squad players throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Continue to develop a rehabilitation process that is industry leading and provides consistency throughout the Senior and Academy squad.
• Ensure all aspects of player care are monitored including prehab, rehab, fitness assessments and treatment.
• Assess, analyse and provide a clinical diagnosis for all injured players to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention.
• Manage caseload of players effectively and efficiently.
• Produce daily and weekly reports of player injury status.
• Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards.
• Provide pre-game and pitch-side medical support services at training and games as required.

2. Managerial
• Participate in the departmental personal development and performance review system to promote personal and service developments.
• Provide coaching support to the Medical and Athletic Performance Team in the delivery of rehabilitation processes and Return to Run processes.
• Monitor activity and support the Medical and Athletic Performance team to prioritise resources to meet service demands without compromising patient care.
• Be actively involved in clinical audit to support the club’s clinical governance strategy.
• Liaise with a range of individuals, internal and external to the Club, to ensure effective service delivery.
• Comply with health, safety and other relevant regulations and legislation.
• Ensure RFU minimum medical standards criteria are met for annual compliance evaluation.

3. Educational
• As a senior member of the Performance Support team, you will be expected to deliver, and participate in the delivery of role specific CPD.
• Demonstrate continuous development of clinical knowledge and skills to ensure delivery of evidence-based, industry leading care in conjunction with CSP and HCPC standards.
• Supervise the clinical training of undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students as required.

4. Communications and Relationships
• Responsible for the appropriate communication between relevant parties such as the Head of Medical Services and the coaching team as to the injured players status and progress throughout the rehabilitation process.
• To communicate and develop effective relationships with all members of the Medical and Athletic Performance Team.

The Experience, Qualifications and Skills needed:
Essential:
• BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent for a minimum of 10 years.
• A minimum of 6 years experience working in full time professional sport, with a minimum of 3 years working with injured athletes.
• Experience in the responsibility of programming and leading the delivery of rehabilitation programmes to injured professional athletes including injuries over 3 months in length.
• Knowledge of, and experience in, testing, profiling, and screening athletic performance qualities of athletes.
• Demonstrable skills to work well within a multidisciplinary high-performance team environment.
• HCPC registered
Desirable:
• Physiotherapy experience in a professional rugby team environment.
• A post-graduate qualification in sports physiotherapy or musculoskeletal physiotherapy or sports science.
• An understanding of strength and conditioning/sports science.
• Knowledge of, and experience in, working with athlete management systems and performance software (please state which software & systems you have experience in).
• Full clean drivers’ licence.
• RFU Pre Hospital Immediate Care in Sport (PHICIS) Level 3
