Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales with a strong reputation for high quality teaching and learning. We have six campuses across the city with over 4, full time learners and 10, part time learners. We currently have a turnover of over £50 million making us a major employer in the region with approximately 1, staff.

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented, enthusiastic and person centred individual to become part of the Schools Management leadership team (Fixed Term 1 year) and NEET Management team (Until December ). We are seeking applications from flexible individuals with experience in a leadership or co-ordination role and who is passionate about teaching and learning, curriculum innovation and ensuring our learners reach their full potential.

  • Full-time (37 hours per week)
  • 14 hours per week teaching commitment
  • Permanent
  • £45, - £46, per annum

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management of curriculum, quality, budgeting, staff deployment, performance management, and learner management.
  • Support the Managers in ensuring high quality teaching, learning and outcomes within the respective areas.
  • Support the Manager to embed a consistent approach to learner management.
  • Represent the College in a variety of stakeholder groups and networks.
  • About you:

  • Recognised Teaching Qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
  • Degree or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of current issues facing FE Colleges including curriculum developments with a strong appreciation of schools curriculum and the NEET agenda.
  • Knowledge of developing curriculum to enhance progression and employability prospects.
  • Experience of leading projects or teams.
