We'd like you to join us as an Assistant Management Accountant in our finance team in Darlington. This role is hybrid, working 3 days in the Darlington office and 2 days at home.

The role will report into the Management Accountant for your specified division, within Residential Services. The Assistant Management Accountant will support the Management Accounts team to deliver the overall accounting and reporting requirements within a specified Division of the Active Care Group.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist in preparing Regional and Divisional P&L and balance sheet amounts to ensure accurately recorded in the month-end accounts on a timely basis, with support from the Management Accountant, in particular:
    • Ensuring that revenue, payroll and cost accrual/prepayment journals are posted accurately and on time
    • Ensuring main trading account bank reconciliations are prepared.
  • Assist in preparing accurate and insightful management accounts with appropriate KPIs; including revenue and margin analysis.
  • Assist in reconciling balance sheet accounts in line with agreed timescales with support from the Management Accountant.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Working towards an AAT qualification or experience within a similar role.
  • Positive enthusiastic approach with a can-do attitude.
  • High level of accuracy and good attention to detail.
  • Strong excel, analysis and presentation skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience of using Sage X3.
  • Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Able to work autonomously and flexibly.
  • Committed to continuous improvement.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working within a finance team.
  • Working towards an accounting qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a fast paced and evolving team environment, private equity and / or healthcare an advantage.
